Mangaung Police seek help finding a missing man

BLOEMFONTEIN – The police at Mangaung Police Station seek assistance from the public to find a missing man, 26-year-old Zwelinzima Wayiza from Simunda Street in Rocklands near Bloemfontein. He was last seen in the morning on Thursday, 28 October 2021, when he left home for work.

Zwelinzima is employed by Cash Crusaders at Southern Centre in Fitchardtpark. When he left home, he was wearing a blue T-shirt, dark blue pair of jeans and black sneakers.

Two caught in the act of business burglary

BLOEMFONTEIN – Two men will soon appear in court for a business burglary after being caught in the act by members of the Bloemfontein K9 Unit.

K9 Unit members, Sergeants Seppie September and Lorthiam Campbell were patrolling in the area of Heidedal in Bloemfontein on Saturday, 30 October 2021, when they received information about a burglary in progress at a business premises. They followed up on the information and caught two suspects in the act with the stolen property.

Members recovered an industrial compressor, pallet jack, aluminium window panes and other building material to an estimated value of R60 000. The two suspects aged 17 and 33 will appear in court on Tuesday, 02 November 2021.

Police arrest two suspects as manhunt for tripple murder suspects continues: Kwanobuhle

KWANOBUHLE – Police are on the hunt for more suspects allegedly involved in a shooting incident which left three people dead yesterday afternoon, 30 October 2021, in Kwanobuhle.

It is alleged that at about 14:50, police were alerted to the shooting at a tavern in Jongilanga Street in Kwanobuhle. It is further alleged that about six suspects entered the tavern and opened fire at the patrons. Three males aged between 25-35 years old were fatally wounded. The suspects then drove off in a Quantum taxi.

SAPS Kwanobuhle police officials who were oblivious of the incident at the time were patrolling when the Quantum drove by in Mango Road and opened fire at the officials. No one was injured and the Quantum drove off.

Backup was requested and an intensive search for the suspects was launched. As police were driving in Jafta Street, they noticed a group of about six males walking with firearms. The officers immediately gave chase and with the assistance of metro police officials they successfully apprehended two suspects (aged 25 and 32). Three 9mm firearms and ammunition were also seized. The two suspects were detained on charges of possession of prohibited firearms, illegal possession of ammunition and attempted murder. The serial numbers of the firearms were filed off. Detectives will be probing a possible link to the murders.

The names of the deceased persons will be released after a formal identification is done on Tuesday, 02 November 2021.

The Provincial Organized Crime Investigation in Gqeberha are investigating three counts of murder and two cases of attempted murder.

The firearms will be sent for ballistic testing.

The search for the outstanding suspects are continuing and detectives are following up on all possible leads. The motive for the senseless murders is yet to be established. Police investigations continue.

Police rid communities of unlicensed firearms

CAPE TOWN – Efforts to rid our communities from unlicensed firearms landed a 32-year-old suspect behind bars when he was caught with a 9mm pistol with no serial number in Lugmag Street Factreton on Saturday, 30 October 2021 at about 10:10.

A joint police stop and search operation was held in the Cape Town cluster when the suspect was searched and the firearm found in his possession.

The suspect will appear in Cape Town Magistrate’s court on charges of possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition on Tuesday, 02 November 2021.

In an unrelated matter, members of Ravensmead police were busy escorting IEC officials when they heard gunshots going off. They drove in the direction of the sound of the gunshots and saw a known suspect running with a firearm in his hand. The firearm fell and the suspect kept running. The members recovered a 9mm pistol. A discharging of a firearm case were opened for investigation. The suspect is yet to be arrested and the investigation continues.

Police hunt for triple murder suspects: Kwazakele

GQEBERHA – The Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Thandiswa Kupiso has immediately ordered that the 72-hour activation plan be implemented for the arrests of the suspects involved in an apparent hit murder of three people in Kwazakele yesterday afternoon, 30 October 2021.

It is alleged that on the mentioned date, at about 16:30, all three victims aged between 25 and 30 returned with a group of people to a funeral house after a burial in Dyantyi Street in Kwazakele. An altercation broke out between the first victim and a person from the group. As the victim started running, he was chased by the group and several shots were fired in his direction. Masixole Qwazi (+- 26 years of age) fell to the ground, a few houses away and died.

It is further alleged that the suspects went back to the house and got into a red hijacked Aveo and went in search of the other two victims. The second victim, Sabata Bukani (+- 25 yeas if age) was fatally wounded in Maronga Street. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The third victim, Thandoxolo Williams (+- 30 years of age) was gunned down in Daku Road. He also sustained multiple gunshot wounds. All three crime scenes are in close proximity.

The red Aveo was later found abandoned in Johnson Road in Soweto-On-Sea.

The motive for the fatal killings is suspected to be gang related.

While police have implemented the 72-hour activation plan, they are also appealing to anyone who may have any information on the whereabouts of these suspects to contact them. All information will be treated with strictest confidence and callers may remain anonymous.

The Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Kupiso has strongly condemned such callous acts and has appealed to the communities to assist the police in tracing these heartless criminals.’ This act of criminality and lawlessness are being taken seriously and it will not be tolerated,’ added Brig Kupiso.

Help Navalsig Police locate missing boy

BLOEMFONTEIN – Earlier today, a family member, from Gruis Femina Court in Hilton near Bloemfontein, arrived at Navalsig Police Station to report a missing person. According to the family member, her 12-year-old nephew, Clayton Alexadre Williams is missing since Sunday, 24 October 2021. The family alleges that Clayton left the house to buy chips at the nearby store but never returned home.

Apparently Clayton disappeared before only to walk back home after a few days. This time around the aunt was called to school for Clayton’s ill-discipline and his disappearance could be for that reason.
