Séminaire mondial sur les centres de données de nouvelle génération

Sujet 1 : Comment définir les infrastructures de centres de données de nouvelle génération ?

Sanjay Kumar Sainani, vice-président principal mondial et directeur de la technologie (CTO) de Huawei Data Center Business, a suggéré qu’avec la croissance vertigineuse du volume de données et de la puissance de calcul, les centres de données de nouvelle génération évolueront vers une conception écologique et à faible émission de carbone, une expansion élastique de la capacité, un déploiement rapide, une architecture modulaire et simplifiée, et la durabilité.

Les experts du secteur présents à l’événement sont parvenus à un consensus sur les indicateurs de performance clés pour les centres de données de demain : Outre l’efficacité de l’utilisation de l’énergie (PUE), largement utilisée, d’autres mesures clés, notamment l’efficacité de l’utilisation du carbone (CUE), l’efficacité de l’utilisation de l’eau (WUE), l’efficacité de l’utilisation de l’espace (SUE), l’efficacité de l’utilisation du réseau (GUE) et la réduction des émissions polluantes sur le cycle de vie, auront également une incidence sur l’avenir du secteur. Les centres de données de nouvelle génération se caractérisent par une forte utilisation des énergies renouvelables, une efficacité énergétique élevée, une grande fiabilité et une gestion hautement intelligente.

Sujet 2 : Innovations technologiques en matière d’alimentation et de refroidissement pour les centres de données de nouvelle génération

Les systèmes d’alimentation et de refroidissement sont des éléments clés des centres de données. Les experts présents à la réunion estiment que les centres de données de nouvelle génération adopteront l’architecture d’alimentation électrique ultra-simplifiée, la batterie lithium-ion, le refroidissement naturel et le refroidissement liquide. Compte tenu du fait que les énergies renouvelables deviendront la source d’énergie dominante, le développement de centres de données à faible émission de carbone dotés d’une synergie « génération-réseau-charge-stockage » sera la direction principale. En outre, avec le développement des technologies et des politiques de récupération de la chaleur, les centres de données devraient passer de centres grands consommateurs d’énergie à des centres générateurs d’énergie.

Sujet 3 : Comment réaliser l’automatisation des centres de données ?

Enfin, en ce qui concerne la gestion des installations des centres de données, les experts ont déclaré que les technologies numériques seraient davantage intégrées aux systèmes d’alimentation et de refroidissement afin de faciliter la maintenance prédictive, améliorant ainsi la fiabilité du système. Les technologies intelligentes sont également mises à profit pour optimiser l’efficacité énergétique afin d’obtenir le meilleur PUE possible. À l’ère de la réglementation sur le carbone, les technologies jumelles numériques permettront aux centres de données d’assurer une gestion visualisée et précise du carbone tout au long de leur cycle de vie.

L’intelligence collective est mise à contribution pour éclairer l’avenir des centres de données. 2Africa Deployment Underway with First Landing in Genoa, Italy

Highly Anticipated Subsea Cable System Set to Connect 3 Billion People Upon Completion 

GENOA, Italy, April 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The 2Africa consortium, comprised of China Mobile International, Meta, MTN GlobalConnect, Orange, stc, Telecom Egypt, Vodafone and WIOCC, announced today the first landing of the 2Africa cable – in Genoa, Italy. The landing sets the tone for more landings in the coming months as the cable is extended to a total of 46 locations by the completion of the project in 2024.

2Africa Deployment Underway with First Landing in Genoa, Italy

Announced in May 2020, the 2Africa subsea cable system together with its Pearls extension are designed to deliver seamless international connectivity to approximately 3 billion people, representing 36% of the global population and connecting three continents, Africa, Europe and Asia.

At 45,000km, it will be the longest subsea cable ever deployed, serving communities that rely on the internet for services from education to healthcare and business, with all experiencing the economic and social benefits that come from this increased connectivity.

Vodafone, the 2Africa landing party in Genoa, has partnered with Equinix to land the cable directly into the Equinix Carrier Neutral Data Center (CNDC), with Retelit delivering the fronthaul. As with all 2Africa cable landings, capacity will be available to service providers in Genoa on a fair and equitable basis, encouraging and supporting the development of a healthy internet ecosystem.

Working with a local Italian operator, 2Africa has also developed a new terrestrial route connecting the Genoa cable landing station (CLS) directly to major CNDCs in Milan.

Good progress on the survey work and manufacturing continues with the 2Africa project remaining on track for completion in 2024.
