Some 40 pairs of identical twins met at Babelsberg Film Park in Potsdam just outside Berlin on Saturday . According to the organizers , the participants in the 21st twin meeting came from all over Germany and Switzerland , including cities like Munich , Kiel and Hanover . The youngest were small children , while the oldest were already pensioners . The idea for the annual meeting arose over 20 years ago . Siblings from a twin family in Bremen regularly visited a brother in Berlin . A spokesman for the organizers said that this led to the idea of inviting more twins . A 45 – year – old livestock farmer was on Sunday arrested after he was allegedly found with 14 Bonsmara cattle which were reported missing from the Omantumba farm in the Hochfeld area of the Okahandja district . Namibian Police Force head of community affairs in the Otjozondjupa Region , Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha in an interview with Nampa on Sunday said the cattle might have been stolen between Friday night and Saturday morning . ‘ The suspects allegedly loaded the 14 cattle from Omantumba farm , and upon receiving information the Hochfeld police together with an anti – poaching organisation set up an intelligence driven operation , which resulted in the arrest of the key suspect ,’ said Mbeha . According to Mbeha the 14 Bonsmara stud cattle valued at approximately N . dollars 426 000 , were then recovered from the suspect , while four other suspects managed to run away during the operation . The recovered cattle were positively identified , and handed back to the owner , said Mbeha , adding that a tru
ck and a sedan suspected to have been used in committing the alleged stock theft incident , were impounded at the Hochfeld Police Station . The suspect is expected to appear on a stock theft charge in the Okahandja Magistrate ‘ s Court on Monday . Police investigations continue.

A total of N . dollars 530 000 was raised during a fundraising gala dinner held at Walvis Bay over the weekend , ahead of the 12th National Fish Consumption Day ( NFCD ). Since its inception in 2012 , the event organised by the Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust ( NFCPT ) has been held in 11 regions , with the Hardap Region making the 12th edition . The NFCD which will be taking place on 21 September 2024 in Mariental in the Hardap Region , is an annual celebration of the fisheries sector , and acts as an avenue to promote fish consumption and education in the host region . The event also aims to raise funds for educational development in the host region including through procuring essentials for schools . This year ‘ s event will be held under the theme ‘ Nourishing Communities , Sustaining Futures ‘. In his speech , Fisheries and Marine Resources Minister Derek Klazen commended stakeholders ‘ efforts and steadfast commitment to addressing the educational needs of communities and the entire country at
large . ‘ This event offers a unique opportunity to forge lasting connections and advance educational development in the Hardap Region . We look forward to strengthening stakeholder relationships and support the well – being of Namibian schoolchildren ,’ he expressed . Klazen highlighted that given the current economic challenges , hosting the fundraising gala event in Walvis Bay allowed for broader participation and generous pledges from stakeholders and guests . Over the past decade , through the fundraising gala dinner , NFCPT and its stakeholders have raised over N . dollars 5 . 1 million , which has been invested in various school necessities across Namibia . Hardap Governor Salomon April in his acceptance speech expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for the pledges , emphasising that the funds will be used to procure essential school supplies identified by the region ‘ s education directorate and will be channelled through the regional council under the decentralisation policy . ‘ What happened here t

On Saturday morning , the man allegedly threatened a 49 – year – old man with a firearm at a caravan site , officials said in a statement . The police and the public prosecutor ‘ s office said the 49 – year – old was unharmed and managed to drive away from the attacker and call the police . He then followed the 46 – year – old and saw him run into an apartment block , they said . The incident took place in an upper middle class neighbourhood of Berlin . The suspect did not open the door , so officers forced their way into the flat in the afternoon . The man then allegedly opened fire immediately with a gun , the statement said . A 31 – year – old cyclist received life – threatening injuries on Saturday evening when a group of as many as 10 men assaulted him in the western German city of Dortmund , police and the public prosecutor ‘ s office said in a joint statement on Sunday . The main perpetrator inflicted cuts on the cyclist . The police are not providing additional information about the weapon used in the attack , as it could affect their investigation . The attackers fled . The critically injured man was taken to hospital , where he underwent surgery . His life is no longer in danger , the statement said .
