Efforts to disarm criminals in the Western Cape have landed a 38-year-old suspect behind bars for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
This morning, Sunday, 07 October 2018, members attached to the Bonteheuwel satellite police station received information about a gang member who was armed in Saffraan Road, Bonteheuwel.
The members acted swiftly on the information and on their arrival they managed to arrest the suspect for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The suspect is due to make a court appearance on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm in Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court on Monday, 08 October 2018.
