The Namibia Football Association’s (NFA) Women’s Super League, backed by First National Bank, will continue with six matches on Saturday and Sunday at Windhoek’s NFA Technical Stadium.
On Saturday, VPower Angels, currently in ninth place on the log standing, will face relegation-threatened Nust Babes in the afternoon, followed by the free-scoring Ongos Ladies, who will face Arrows Ladies. Ramblers, who are two points above the relegation zone, will face Khomas Nampol Ladies in the final Saturday encounter.
Ongos Ladies will attempt to further strengthen their advantage at the top of the league and boost their scoring count, which currently stands at 45 goals after 11 games when they face Nust Babes, who require a crucial victory to escape relegation this season. VPower Angels will then host Arrows Ladies, while Ramblers meets Beauties, who are six points behind log leaders Ongos Ladies.
The league consists of 12 clubs and has played 11 games thus far. Some teams have however played 10 games, with Nust Babe
s being the only team to have played nine games.
After 11 games, Ongos Ladies lead the league with 31 points from 10 wins and one draw, followed by Beauties with 25 points from eight wins, one draw, and two losses.
Khomas Nampol Ladies are third in the log standing with seven victories, three draws, and one defeat, followed by Girls and Goals with 23 points from seven wins, two draws, and one loss. Ongwediva Queens, who have been playing fantastic football this season, are in fifth place with 17 points, followed by Unam Bokkies (16), Namib Daughters (15), and Arrows Ladies (13).
The Ramblers Women have six points, leaving them two points above the relegation zone.
The relegation struggle continues, with Nust Babes and Okahandja each collecting one victory and no draws. Nust Babes have lost eight games this season, while Okahandja have lost 10 and surrendered 46 goals while scoring just 17. Nust Babes have conceded 33 goals and scored seven. Both teams are on three points.
