Cape Town: Agrement South Africa, a public entity under the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, is set to host an industry and stakeholder engagement forum for the Western Cape at the Century City Convention Centre. The event aims to bring together various stakeholders to discuss and assess innovative building and non-standardized products or systems.
According to South African Government News Agency, the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure considers the event a crucial platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and the exploration of sustainable solutions to South Africa’s infrastructure challenges. The department emphasized the need to address the changing environmental and climate conditions by rethinking the materials and systems used in the built environment.
The department further noted that this industry and stakeholder forum will be conducted in all provinces as part of an initiative to address the current environmental situation. The forums are expected to provide a roadmap for adapting building materials that can mitigate the effects of climate change while ensuring that the materials and systems used are environmentally friendly.
