Amupadhi attending FIVB international referees course

WINDHOEK: Volleyball referee Fillemon Amupadhi is attending the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) International Referees Candidate Course in Sale, Morocco this week.

Amupadhi is the first Namibian to take part in the course, and Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) president Hillary Dux Imbuwa said in a statement on Monday that the NVF is proud to have one of its officials attending this event.

‘This is not only a personal achievement for him, but also a monumental step for the development of volleyball in Namibia. His participation in this course reflects the growing recognition of Namibian talent on the international stage,’ Imbuwa said.

He added that the NVF is confident that Amupadhi will excel and bring back invaluable knowledge and experience that will benefit refereeing standards in Namibia and the overall growth of the sport in the country, in line with the NVF’s key strategic objectives as a federation.

‘Amupadhi left for Morocco over the weekend to join 25 other national referees from ac
ross 21 African countries. His selection marks a significant milestone for Namibia, being the first and only candidate from our nation to attend this esteemed international course,’ Imbuwa stated.

The course is being hosted by the Confederation of African Volleyball at the Institut Royal de Formation des Cadres Moulay Rachid from 07 to 15 July 2024.
