Anti-Gang Unit Arrests Boyfriend in Alleged Murder of Missing Amalia Woman

Belfast: Anti-Gang Unit members have arrested the missing Amalia woman, Kedisaletse Audrey Ditire's 50-year-old boyfriend after he led authorities to her decomposed body at a farm in Amalia. The arrest occurred on Thursday, 21 August 2025.

According to South African Police Service, Ditire, aged 52, was last seen by her boyfriend on Thursday midday, 29 May 2025, near the R506 road between Amalia and Christiana, close to Kgwejana Farm. She was reportedly on her way to a local store. Her boyfriend, who was employed at the farm, reported her missing on Saturday, 7 June 2025. The suspect was subsequently arrested during police investigations for contravention of section 49 of the Immigration Act, 2002 and was remanded in custody.

The suspect is due to appear before the Schweizer-Reneke Magistrates' Court on Monday, 25 August 2025, facing a charge of murder.

The acting Provincial Police Commissioner, Maj Gen Patrick Asaneng, stated: "The arrest of the suspect and the discovery of the mortal remains of the deceased while commended and welcomed, it is yet another painful reminder of the brutality and barbaric violence that defenceless women are subjected to by men who are supposed to be their protectors. It is hoped that this arrest will bring some comfort and closure to the family who for a long time didn't know what could have happened to their loved one."
