Update: Body of murdered woman identified

GQEBERHA – The body of the woman found yesterday, 31 May 2021 was identified this morning by a relative. She was Humeleng Sephophatne (22) from Greenfields. She was last seen on Sunday, 30 May 2021 at about 16:00 in Greenfields.

The murder investigation is continuing.

Wanted suspects sought by the Political Task Team Detectives

DURBAN – It is alleged that on 28 August 2019 at 22:00, two brothers Mthoko Ndimande (22) and Sandile Ndimande (29) were kidnapped from their home at Mkhizwana area under Umsunduzi policing precinct.

Their bodies were found the following day with gunshot wounds on the body at Mngcweni area in Umsunduzi. Charges of murder were opened at Umsunduzi SAPS. Two suspects aged 31 and 37 were arrested last month for charges of murder. They appeared before the Camperdown Magistrates’ Court and were remanded in custody. The matter was adjourned to 12 July 2021.

The detectives from the Political Task Team are urging the community to assist in locating Cebo Gwala (27), Zisholo Shozi (36) and Khona Buthelezi (38) on the attached pictures. Their warrant of arrest was issued by the court. A reward of up to R10 000-00 is offered to anyone who might have information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the wanted suspects.

Public assistance required to find a missing elderly man

ZEBEDIELA – The South African Police Service in Zebediela requires public assistance to find a missing elderly man, Pieterse Cornelius Francois aged 68 from Mokgophong area.

The victim was last seen by the guardian on 22 May 2021 at around 11:00am before he allegedly absconded from Groothoek Old Age Home. The security guard alleged that he did not use the gate to get out of the premises.

The missing man is tall and slim. He was wearing blue short jeans, blue jersey and blue shoes.

Police search operation was conducted in and around the area with no success.

Decontamination of Metpol building (SAPS Provincial Head Office) 126 Charlotte Maxeke Street Bloemfontein

FREE STATE – Please be informed that Metpol Building (126 Charlotte Maxeke street Bloemfontein) housing SAPS Head Office personnel will be temporarily closed for decontamination. This is after a positive Covid-19 case was detected.

Brig Lizzy Matobako can be contacted at 082 779 0889 in case of emergency.

Employees of the components housed at Metpol Building will be working remotely while the building is being decontaminated.

Both external and internal clients will be duly informed when the building will be ready and safe to be occupied again.

The Provincial Commissioner; Lt Gen Baile Motswenyane and management wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this closure.

Assistance sought by Nsuze police

DURBAN – Nsuze police are appealing to the community for assistance with any information regarding an unidentified body which was found under the Nsuze bridge between the boundary of Mwandla and Nyuswa in Ngcongangconga area.

A case of murder was opened at Nsuze police station. The body of the unknown male believed to be between 14 and 17-years-old was found on the morning of 28 May 2021 with a bullet wound on the forehead. He was wearing a tiger vest, grey jeans, no shoes with (traditional muthi) arm belt on both sides.

Missing person sought by Chatsworth FCS Unit

DURBAN – Chatsworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit are appealing to members of the community with regards to a missing teenager Njabulo Bekwa who is 16-years-old. He was last seen on 23 May 2021 when he left from his home at Welbedatch West in Chatsworth. He was last seen wearing short pants, sandals and a grey hooded jacket. He is medium in complexion and is medium built. The reason for his disappearance is unknown.
