ALLANRIDGE: Police in Allanridge have issued a public appeal for assistance in identifying the family of a deceased man whose body was found in Stink Dam. The discovery of the body, which was floating face-down, has prompted an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the man’s death.
According to South African Police Service, officers were called to the scene on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, around 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the body of an African male, estimated to be in his 30s, in the water. The man, who was wearing pink tights and a brown top without shoes, was described as light in complexion, slender, of average height, and with short hair. Blood stains were noted around his neck, raising suspicions about the cause of death.
The police have opened an inquest to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist in identifying the deceased or locating his relatives to come forward.
