Burundian national arrested with cocaine in Oshana


OSHAKATI: The Namibian Police Force in the Oshana Region have arrested a 37-year-old Burundian man who was allegedly found in possession of cocaine worth over N.dollars 50 000 on Friday.

Oshana Head of Community Policing, Chief Inspector Thomas Aiyambo said the suspect was apprehended around 11h00 at Ekuku in the area of Oshakati.

According to Aiyambo, information was received that the suspect was selling cocaine and had cocaine on his person.

‘An operation was conducted, and cocaine was found on the suspect’s body, hidden between his legs,’ he said.

The police recovered 106 grams of cocaine valued at N.dollars 53 000.

The suspect is set to appear at the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
