Condolences Extended to Family of Late Sowetan Editor Pearl Sebolao

Johannesburg: The government has extended its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Executive Editor of the Sowetan, Pearl Sebolao. The renowned journalist and editor passed away on Saturday after a short illness at the Johannesburg Surgical Hospital in Northcliff, located in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg.

According to South African Government News Agency, Government Communication and Information System Acting Director-General Nomonde Mnukwa expressed sorrow over the loss. “We mourn the passing of a dedicated journalist and committed media professional who helped shape the narrative of our time,” Mnukwa stated. She further wished for comfort and strength for Sebolao’s loved ones during this challenging period and hoped that her memory would continue to inspire those working towards a better South Africa. Mnukwa concluded her message with a wish for Sebolao’s soul to rest in peace.
