London: The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr. Mimmy Gondwe, will lead a delegation from the South African Post-School Education and Training (PSET) sector to the Education World Forum (EWF) 2025 in London. The event is set to take place from May 18 to 21, 2025.
According to South African Government News Agency, EWF 2025 is recognized as the world’s largest annual gathering of education leaders and ministers. Dr. Gondwe emphasized the significance of this event, stating, “The Education World Forum offers a valuable platform for collaboration among global education leaders. By sharing innovative practices and insights, we can strengthen our higher education system, equipping youth with essential skills to drive economic growth and reduce unemployment.”
During the forum, the Deputy Minister will focus on South Africa’s dedication to equitable access and quality education. She will participate in significant discussions and engagements on topics such as girls’ education, preventing gender-based violence, fostering public-private partnerships for innovation in education, and promoting vocational education and skills development pathways for youth employment and economic growth.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Training noted that Deputy Minister Gondwe is hopeful that the insights gained at EWF 2025 will address some of the challenges facing the local higher education sector.
