Deputy Minister Sotyu leads a Youth Month Outreach Programme in De Doorns, Western Cape
The Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Ms Makhotso Sotyu, will lead a Youth Month Outreach programme under the theme Accelerating Collaborations And Opportunities To Improve The Lives Of The Youth, on Thursday, 22 June 2023.
The Deputy Minister’s Youth Month Outreach programme forms part of the Departmental Youth and Environment Month activities. The outreach programme aims to encourage communities to take charge of their environment. The goal is also to inspire and educate learners about the importance of environmental science and foster a passion for environmental conservation among the younger generation.
To mark the occasion, the Deputy Minister will hand over school shoes, sanitary towels, school desks and other materials to the schools and indigent learners. The Deputy Minister will also lead a school career day focusing on environmental science.
