Deputy Minister Zizi Kodwa engages Gauteng Province Executive Council on Intelligence Services, 23 Sept

Deputy Minister Kodwa to engage the Gauteng Province Executive Council on Intelligence Services and to conduct an impromptu visit to the OR Tambo International Airport

The Deputy Minister in the Presidency Responsible for State Security, Mr. Zizi Kodwa will tomorrow, Friday, 23 September 2022 engage the Gauteng Province Executive Council on matters relating to intelligence services.

These engagements form part of the implementation of the recommendations contained in the report on the July 2021 unrest, which among others, urged the intelligence services to establish and maintain consistent lines of communication between the services and role players such as Provincial and Local Government leaders.

The proceedings of this meeting will be closed however an opportunity will be created for media interaction after the meeting.

The meeting will take place as follows:
Venue: The Capital Inn, Melrose
Time: 10:00 – 12:00
Date: 23 September 2022

The Deputy Minister will then proceed to conduct an impromptu visit at the OR Tambo International, which is the biggest aviation port of entry in the country.

He will inspect among others, interventions aimed at strengthening security at the port of entry and to receive updates on other areas of interest in the operations of the port of entry.
