Pretoria: The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has forecast that temperatures will remain cool to warm across the country throughout the long Easter weekend, offering a stable climate for the many individuals planning to travel for religious conventions or holiday getaways.
According to South African Government News Agency, the SAWS has stated that while rainfall will begin to decrease in most regions, isolated showers and thundershowers are still anticipated in the north-eastern areas on Thursday, 17 April 2025. Light showers and rain are also expected along the east and south-east coast. These weather conditions are predicted to continue on Friday and Saturday, 18-19 April 2025. A surface trough, supported by an upper air trough, will be positioned over the western interior on Sunday, 20 April 2025, leading to isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers in the western interior, as well as the southern and south-eastern parts of the country on Sunday and Monday, 20-21 April 2025.
The South African Weather Service will keep monitoring the weather systems and provide any necessary updates. For ongoing updates, the public can follow SAWS on X – @SAWeatherService, Facebook (South African Weather Service), or other SAWS-supported social media platforms.
