Football galore for NFA’s first division this weekend


The Namibia Football Association’s Northwest and Northeast streams’ first division football leagues resume this weekend, with 24 games scheduled in 10 towns across the country on.

Rounds 11 and 12 of the Northwest Stream Division will take place on Saturday and Sunday, with 12 matchups set for Oshikuku, Grootfontein, Otavi, and Oshakati.

On Saturday, Oshikuku Young Stars will play at home against Outjo-based Golden Bees, while Ongwediva City will face Outjo Football Academy at the Uukwangula sports field in Oshakati. Elsewhere in Otavi, bottom-of-the-table Touch and Go will face the league’s current leaders KK Palace at the Otavi sports field.

Eleven Warriors will face African Motto, which is in the relegation zone after 11 games, and Young Chiefs will face Onambula United in Oshakati. This match will be followed by Golden Bigs against Khuse Lions.

On Sunday, Oshikuku Young Stars will host Otjo Football Academy at home, while Ongwediva City will play Golden Bees at the Uukwangula sports field. Golden Bigs
will take on Onambula United, Young Chiefs will face Khuse Lions, Eleven Warriors will host KK Palace in a top-spot battle and Touch and Go will put their strength to the test when they face African Motto in a relegation zone battle.

With only five games played thus far, the Northeast First Division will continue with rounds six and seven at Katima Mulilo, Bagani, Rundu, Nkurenkuru, Omuthiya, and Tsumeb, with 12 games over the weekend. Katima Mulilo-based Black Hawks will host league leaders Oshikango Chiefs, while Eastern Chiefs will face Further Fighter at Bagani sports field.

KK United will host Rundu Chiefs at the Nkurenkuru youth field, United Stars will face Cuca Tops in Rundu, Chiefs Santos will play at home against Ntunguru at the Oscar Norich Stadium in Tsumeb, and relegation-threatened Omuthiya United will host Kangweru B Tops at the Omuthiya sports field.

On Sunday, the league will feature Black Hawks versus Further Fighters, Eastern Chiefs against Oshikango Chiefs, KK United against Cuca Tops,
and United Stars against Rundu Chiefs. Chiefs Santos will take on Kangweru B Tops, while Omuthiya United will face Mtunguru in the last game on Sunday.
