Barberton: Four police officers from the Barberton Detective Services unit have been remanded in custody by the Barberton Magistrate’s Court. The officers, Sergeant Danisile Precious Mahlangu (47), Sergeant Mandla Saky Ndlovu (49), Sergeant Bongani Dlamini (40), and Sergeant Doctor Zulu (42), are facing charges related to the theft of cash and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

According to South African Police Service, the court proceedings took place on Friday, 15 November 2024. The accused officers are currently held in custody as the court decided to postpone the case to 19 November 2024. The upcoming court date is set for the officers to apply for bail.
