Germiston: A successful intelligence-driven operation was conducted on Friday, 25 April 2025, by the Gauteng Provincial Head Office Firearms Liquor and Second Hand Goods (FLASH) unit, in collaboration with the Gauteng Gambling Board, Gauteng Traffic Police, and Gauteng Traffic Wardens, in the Germiston area. The joint effort resulted in the arrest of four Ethiopian nationals for possession and dealing in illegal gambling machines.
According to South African Police Service, the operation yielded significant results, including the confiscation of 28 gambling machines. The suspects were charged in terms of the Gauteng Gambling Act, Act 4 of 1995, demonstrating the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold the law and protect the community.
