Government Aims to Ease Investment Process with New Northern Cape Initiative

Kimberley: The Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Parks Tau, is set to officiate the launch of Invest South Africa's One Stop Shop (OSS) in the Northern Cape on Monday. This initiative is designed to streamline the process for investors by providing services that expedite projects and minimize bureaucratic obstacles when establishing businesses.

According to South African Government News Agency, the OSS initiative serves as a primary interface for investors and stakeholders, facilitating engagement with South Africa's investment ecosystem. It aims to provide accessible and responsive engagement through various channels, such as South African foreign missions, foreign missions based in South Africa, business chambers, the InvestSA website, social media, direct marketing emails, newsletters, surveys, and targeted investment promotion events both domestically and internationally.

The One Stop Shop in the Northern Cape is a collaborative effort involving the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic), the Northern Cape's Department of Economic Development and Tourism, the Provincial Investment Promotion Agency, along with other national, provincial, and local government departments and agencies, traditional leaders, and business associations. The launch of the facility coincides with the provincial Investment Conference, emphasizing its significance in the region's economic development strategy.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for the afternoon at the Northern Cape Economic Development, Trade and Investment Promotion Agency in Kimberley. The official programme will take place at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre, located at 10 West Circular Road, Kimberley.
