Speaking at the funeral, President Nangolo Mbumba described Hanse-Himarwa as a woman of substance, conviction and honour.

Mbumba said Hanse-Himarwa lived a life that was not just well-lived, but magnificently lived, a life dedicated to others and devoted to making Namibia a better place.

‘She was a champion of justice, equity and unity. Indeed, she was a model patriot and committed cadre. Thank you Comrade Katrina, my younger sister and friend, for having been a part of our lives. Though the sparkle of your eye is no more, you have left us with endless memories that will continue to burn bright through the ages,’ he said.
