Swapo Party Member of Parliament, Natangwe Iithete, has urged the community of Ogongo to continue supporting Swapo, as it is the only party that stands for the truth.
Iithete was speaking during a mini rally held at Epangu village in the Omusati Region on Saturday, saying that they should put aside their differences.
According to Iithete, no political organisation can guide Namibians to better times like Swapo, which fought for Namibia’s independence.
‘Numerous opposition parties have come and gone without fulfilling their commitments to the nation’s advancement. Let us help Swapo lead the Namibian people for the benefit of future generations,’ he said.
He added that Swapo brought peace, and it is because of the peace brought by Swapo that they can live freely.
Iithete stressed that they were colonised for too long, yet Swapo liberated the people.
He urged people to have faith in Swapo, the only party that is concerned with the welfare of all Namibians, rather than falling for the tricks of newly founded political parties.
‘Many of these individuals came from Swapo, so we cannot have people claiming to want to clean up the system they were a part of when they had the opportunity to do so in the past,’ he added.
He then urged the people to vote for the Swapo Party during the 27 November 2024 Presidential election and to vote for Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the party’s first female presidential candidate.
Iithete also called on former members of the party who had left to return, saying that Swapo is ready to welcome them back.
Ogongo district coordinator for Swapo, Alweendo Leonhard Nangolo, indicated that they are ready to lead Swapo for the betterment of the Namibian people.
