Kulula, Kasume out of Brave Warriors Afcon qualifiers squad

The Brave Warriors will travel to Cameroon for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Indomitable Lions without striker Erastus Kululan and midfielder Romeo Kasume . The two players , who currently play in Kosovo ‘ s second – tier league with Liria Prizren , are unable to fly from Kosovo owing to visa restrictions , the Namibia Football Association ( NFA ) stated on Tuesday . They were initially part of coach Collin Benjamin ‘ s 24 – man squad , who will travel to Cameroon and South Africa to face Kenya on 10 September 2024 at the Orlando Stadium . Benjamin announced that Punaije Katjimune and Lawrence Doeseb had taken their positions . ‘ It ‘ s a huge blow to the team but we equally believe in all the players and what they bring to the team . Kulula and Kasume had an impressive year with the team thus far , they both featured in the World Cup qualifiers in June and did well for first – timers at a big stage . They also went on to play in the Cosafa tournament ,’ said Benjamin . He noted that Katji
mune and Doeseb are young and eager to play , which is exactly what the squad needs . Benjamin ‘ s squad travelled to South Africa on Sunday to prepare before departing for Cameroon on Wednesday . The team will return to South Africa to play their second group match against Kenya on Tuesday ( 10 September ) at the Orlando Stadium . The top two finishers will advance to the tournament , to be held in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026 . Namibia has been placed in Group J of the qualifiers , alongside Cameroon , Kenya , and Zimbabwe . Despite the absence of the Kosovo – based talisman , Benjamin ‘ s roster is still full of bold players , such as Orlando Pirates left – back Deon Hotto Kavendjii and Bethuel Muzeu , who will boost the team ‘ s morale . Despite not having enough playing time in South Africa , versatile goalkeeper Lloyed Kazapua has been deployed between the sticks with Edward Maova and Kamaijanda Ndisiro . The defence consists of Erasmus Ikeinge , Kennedy Amutenya , Charles Hambira ,
Ivan Kamberipa , Arend Abubakar , Tuli Nashixua , Rian Hanamub , and Ngero Katua . Aprosius Petrus , Prins Tjiuza , Deon Hotto , Tjipee Karuuombe , Fares Haindula , Moses Shidolo , Lawrence Doeseb , Paulus Amutenya , and Edmar Kamatuka will play in the midfield . Benjamin has enlisted the services of Bethuel Muzeu , David Ndeunyema , and Punaije Katjimune as strikers
