The KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council, led by Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli, will today meet for the first provincial lekgotla of the Government of Provincial Unity (GPU).
The two-day lekgotla, which takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday in Durban, is expected to consolidate the programme of action for the seventh provincial administration.
‘The lekgotla will serve as a critical platform for strategic planning and will consider the Medium-Term Development Plan. The meeting will also evaluate the implementation of key initiatives, and set a clear direction for future actions,’ the provincial government said in a statement.
The meeting is expected to be attended by Members of the Executive Council, including senior government leaders, councillors, CEOs of public entities, and other relevant entities, who will engage in comprehensive discussions, share insights, and develop actionable plans to enhance governance and service delivery in the province.
‘Key areas of discussion will include economic development, infrastr
ucture projects, healthcare improvements, education, and social services and many others. The lekgotla will also develop resolutions that will be outlined during the upcoming State of the Province Address,’ the provincial government said.
Premier Ntuli will deliver the opening address on Tuesday, paving the way for ‘crucial discussions’.
