Robert Lewandowski, whose hat-trick led FC Barcelona to a 3-0 victory over Alaves, praised his team’s performance and admitted that he has “never played so many games in such a short time”.
Lewandowski’s first half hat-trick ensured FC Barcelona go into the international break as La Liga leaders with a three-point advantage over Real Madrid. The 36-year-old is La Liga’s current best scorer with 10 goals.
“I got some stunning passes, which made my job much easier. We played a very good game. We attacked from the first minutes, and we achieved the result that we wanted,” Lewandowski was quoted as saying by Polish media on Monday.
Poland’s captain admitted that high intensity of the season has been a big challenge for him and the team.
“For the last five games, we played one in every three days. I’ve never played so many matches in a short space of time. It’s a challenge when you have such a short break before every next game,” the striker concluded.
