Liquid Intelligent Technologies Crowns ProLink as Winner of Youth Tech Pitchathon

Johannesburg: Liquid Intelligent Technologies South Africa has concluded its Youth Tech Entrepreneurship Programme by celebrating the graduation of 20 young entrepreneurs. The initiative, which is a part of Cassava Technologies, is actively running in the Eastern Cape and North West Province with the goal of addressing youth unemployment through digital skills and entrepreneurial development.

According to African Press Organization, the programme marked its culmination with an event held at Liquid’s head office in Johannesburg, where graduates received their certificates on 25 June. The highlight of the event was a pitchathon featuring four tech start-ups. ProLink, a digital platform aimed at connecting users with verified contractors in Mthatha, emerged victorious, earning R100,000 in seed funding and a 12-month business support package.

Ziaad Suleman, CEO of Cassava Technologies in South Africa and Botswana, emphasized the significance of the programme, noting its role in equipping young people with essential skills and entrepreneurial capabilities. He praised the graduates and pitching start-ups, particularly ProLink, for their innovative contributions to real-world challenges.

Other participating start-ups included Otomex Innovations, focusing on AI-driven mental health support; The Eye of Tech, which aims to expand digital skills in rural areas; and HerdTrace, a female-led agritech initiative enhancing livestock management. Participants benefited from MICTSETA-accredited training and pre-incubation support, with all start-ups receiving Azure credits through the Microsoft Founders Hub.

The Youth Tech Entrepreneurship Programme reflects Liquid South Africa’s dedication to preparing young people for the digital future. As South Africa observes Youth Month, this initiative highlights a commitment to empowering youth to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the broader economy.
