Maitland Flying Squad Arrest Four Suspects in Two Separate Incidences


Maitland: The swift response by the Western Cape police led to the arrest of four suspects in two unrelated incidences.



According to South African Police Service, on Sunday 02 March 2025, members attached to Maitland Flying Squad were patrolling in Milnerton when they saw a suspicious looking silver Ford Eco Sport. The members tried to stop the vehicle but it sped away. Milnerton SAPS and security companies in the area joined in the high-speed chase and eventually forced the vehicle to come to a halt as it collided with a boundary wall. Two males and a female suspects jumped out of the vehicle in an attempt to escape, but were apprehended and detained at Milnerton SAPS. Members tested the vehicle which was confirmed to have been stolen on a Milnerton case. The vehicle was booked in as an exhibit and further processing.



The three suspects aged 56, 41, and 22 will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court once charged.



In an unrelated matter, members followed up on information received about an e-hailing driver delivering drugs in Spencer Street, Goodwood with a blue Ford Fiesta with a faded bumper. The members operationalised the information received and spotted the vehicle that matched the description given and pulled it over. They searched the driver and the vehicle upon which they found him in possession of 10 bags of cocaine with an undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime. The members then proceeded to his residence where they continued the search and found two big bags with cocaine.



The 54-year-old man was arrested for charges of possession of drugs. He will appear in the Goodwood Magistrates’ Court once charged.
