Ouagadougou: Malian Prime Minister Choguel Kokalla Maïga denounced on Thursday an ongoing international media campaign against the entrenchment of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
‘There is an international media campaign to sow trouble in the minds of Africans in the Alliance of Sahel States (AES)’, declared Thursday, Prime Minister Choguel Kokalla Maïga, during the opening of the States General of the notary of Mali, relayed by its Youtube channel.
Prime Minister Maïga says he came to this conclusion by listening every morning to international radio stations on which people talk nonsense about the Confederation of Sahel States, founded in early July by Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.
According to the head of the Malian government, determined men who have a sense of history have always been able to make important decisions for their people, without seeking total consensus.
‘The leaders of the AES made a choice on behalf of their people. Our role is to explain it to our people, convince them of the corre
ctness of our choice and hope that history proves us right. And I’m sure we’ll be right. If history shows us the opposite, the people will draw conclusions,’ explained Choguel Kokalla Maïga.
