A 39 – year – old man was arrested at Oshetu village in the Oshikoto Region after he reportedly stabbed his 35 – year – old girlfriend to death with a kitchen knife on Sunday . According to the Namibian Police Force ‘ s ( NamPol ) crime investigations coordinator for the region , Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo on Monday , the incident occurred around 17h00 at the Oshifukwa cucashops , where the woman was doing her hair . The deceased was identified as Martha Aron from Onambundu village and a case of murder read with the provision of domestic violence has been opened against the suspect . ‘ It is alleged that the suspect , who is a boyfriend to the deceased , requested to speak to her because she had ended their 11 – month romantic relationship and he allegedly wanted to resolve the issue with her , but the deceased did not want to ,’ Ekandjo reported . The suspect then allegedly got a kitchen knife from his car and stabbed her four times in the neck , back an chest . Aron died on the spot and the suspect
fled the scene and went in hiding . He was later arrested at Onalunike in Oshetu village , Ekandjo said . The deceased ‘ s remains were taken to the Omuthiya police mortuary for an autopsy to be conducted and her next of kin have been informed . The suspect is expected to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate ‘ s Court on Tuesday . Police investigations continue .
