IKAMVELIHLE – SAPS detectives have opened an inquest following the death of a 64-year-old man at about 02:50 this morning, Sunday, 21 August 2022.
It is alleged that the victim was staying in a flat at the back of the main residence in Bumbane Street, NU4A, Ikamvelihle. It is further alleged that the victim was asleep, when a fire broke out inside the flat in which the victim sustained extensive burn wounds.
The name of the victim will be released once formal identification was completed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
