A 22-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death in the DRC informal settlement at Swakopmund on Friday.
In a crime report issued Sunday, the police said Imms Hermanus Ganaseb was stabbed around 23h00 by a 19-year-old suspect, who fled the scene but was arrested the following day.
It is not clear what led to the incident. Ganaseb’s body was taken to the Swakopmund State Hospital mortuary and his next of kin were informed.
Police investigations are ongoing.
In a separate incident, a 33-year-old male suspect was arrested on Friday after he was allegedly found with drugs valued at N.dollars 11 020 in his possession at Uis in the Erongo Region.
The police stated that the suspect was found in possession of Mandrax tablets in the Omkhandare Block location. Investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile in a similar incident in the same residential area, two men were arrested after allegedly being found in possession of cannabis and Mandrax tablets valued at N.dollars 2 430 on Friday.
The 23-year-old and 35-year-old suspects allegedly had 21 grams of skunk cannabis and half a Mandrax tablet in their possession when they were arrested around 09h05, also in Omkhandare Block.
The substances were seized and police investigations continue.
The police also reported that 17 sheep worth an estimated N.dollars 25 500 were stolen from a kraal on Farm Swartwater at Tses and slaughtered on Friday.
A male suspect has been arrested and police investigations continue.
