Media Invitation: Welcoming for the newly appointed Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner

ZWELITSHA: The South African Police Service in the Eastern Cape will be welcoming the newly appointed Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Lillian Mene in a prayer service to be held tomorrow, 13 December 2021 in Zwelitsha.

Lieutenant General Mene has just been appointed to this position after the post became vacant by the departure of the former Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga to Head Office in Pretoria.

The new Provincial Commissioner is expected to effectively assume her office duties from tomorrow after an introduction by Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection, Lt Gen Liziwe Ntshinga. The MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Mrs Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe is expected to address the Provincial SAPS Management during the event.

The Welcoming Prayer Service will be preceded by a motorcade and horses in a procession that will start at King William’s Town police station and end at Griffiths Mxenge Building on Monday, 13 December 2021. Members of the media are invited to attend the day’s event.
