FREE ATATE – On Friday evening 15 July 2022 at about 18:20, police received intelligence led information about a male person carrying explosives in a bag. The members reacted to the information and it led them to Virginia in Bullion street.
The suspect was identified and approached. Upon searching him, members found shockwave assemblies, blasting cartridges and a shockwave starter in the bag. The suspect who is a 40-year-old miner at one of the local mines was arrested for possession of explosives.
He will appear in the Virginia Magistrate Court soon.
