Minister Condemns Killing of Eight People in Umlazi


Umlazi: The Minister of Police, Senzo Mchunu, has strongly condemned the killing of eight people-six men and two women-in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal, on Friday evening. The victims were reportedly inside a residence when an unknown number of suspects entered and opened fire, resulting in their deaths at the scene.



According to South African Government News Agency, the Minister labeled the attack as a horrific act of violence that holds no place in society. He described it as a calculated crime that disrupts community cohesion. The Minister emphasized that a dedicated team of investigators has been assigned to pursue leads, gather evidence, and ensure those responsible are brought to justice. He assured the public that the authorities would not rest until the perpetrators face legal consequences.



Police in KwaZulu-Natal have initiated a manhunt for the suspects involved in the incident. The Minister has called for community cooperation with law enforcement, urging anyone with information, regardless of its significance, to come forward.
