Mouhoun/Security and humanitarian crisis: The CNSS provides support to IDPs


Ouagadougou: The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) donated food, on Saturday August 3, 2024 in Dédougou, to internally displaced persons, worth more than 3 million FCFA, to relieve their suffering . The ceremony was attended by the Director General of the institution, Dr Yacouba Hermann Nakambo.

The donation given to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the town of Dédougou, consists of 60 bags of rice of 50 kg, 60 bags of corn of 50 kg and 60 cans of oil of 5 liters, all worth of 3,590,000 F.

The delivery took place on Saturday August 3, 2024 in Dédougou.

The donation is part of the outpouring of solidarity shown by CNSS agents and which is in line with the call for solidarity launched by the highest authorities of the country in order to come to the aid of the victims of terrorist attacks. .

For the director general of the CNSS, Yacouba Hermann Nakambo, his institution was sensitive to the situation of IDPs in Dédougou and through this gesture, responds to the call for active solidarity launched by
the government so that compatriots affected by the situation security receive the solidarity and assistance of the entire Nation.

‘It is in this surge of solidarity that we wanted to make this donation to bring comfort and to contribute to the resolution of the humanitarian crisis that the country has been facing for several years,’ he indicated.

Yacouba Hermann Nakambo, continued that the symbolic contribution of 3,590,000 CFA francs reflects the commitment of CNSS agents driven by a spirit of solidarity and sharing.

Also, said the Director General, ‘As a citizen institution, the CNSS has always had a commitment to contributing to the resilience of Burkina Faso. We will ensure that we continue to make our contribution to ensure that these IDPs always feel Burkinabè, that they are not left behind and that the slogan of the CNSS, namely the virtues of solidarity, is a reality on a daily basis.

The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Dédougou, Dieudonné Tougfo, expressed his gratitud
e to the CNSS for this donation.

‘Through this gesture from the CNSS, it is the solidarity shown towards our IDPs and it is this solidarity which allows us to endure the difficult times that we are experiencing individually, as a family, in society. This solidarity allows us to move forward together to boost the economic and social development of our dear country,’ said the PDS.

He brought grievances from the IDPs of Dédougou to the head of the CNSS, which are, among other things, a drinking water point for the regional IDP site, the acquisition of garbage bins and cleaning equipment for sanitation. of their living environment.

In response, the director general of the CNSS promised to examine them and provide a response as soon as possible.

In receiving this donation, the representative of the beneficiaries, Bakary Karambiri, expressed all the gratitude of the IDPs to the head of the CNSS for this very laudable gesture in this critical period of their lives.

s gesture of food which relieves us in our IDP situation. We thank our donors and pray to God that these kinds of donations will soon find us in our different localities,’ he added.

The secretary general of Mouhoun province, representing the governor of the region, reassured the donor that arrangements will be made so that the food can reach the beneficiaries.

The CNSS is not its first donation since the country is going through the dual security and humanitarian crisis.

According to its first manager, the donations will not solve all the problems of the IDPs but will bring a little hope and comfort to those affected by the crisis.
