The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Oshikoto Region have announced the promotion of two police officers to serve as station commanders in the region.
According to NamPol Oshikoto Regional Commander, Commissioner Theopoline Kalompho-Nashikaku, Warrant Officer Kefas Kamati and Inspector Heinz Nakashani were promoted to the positions of station commanders of Onethindi and Omuthiya police stations, respectively.
Kamati now holds the rank of an Inspector while Nakashani is now a Chief Inspector.
‘We want to know how we can uplift our hard-working members and we have been given the authority to promote them by our commander, Inspector General Joseph Shikongo who has agreed with us and approved these appointments,’ said Nashikaku.
Nashikaku also pointed out that the police in the region are preparing for upcoming activities and how they can excel in serving the communities.
‘We have come up with initiatives to take the police to the people and started with initiatives which include liaising with tradition
al authorities,’ said Nashikaku.
She said that two weeks ago, the police were at Ohaiyanda village in the Eengodi Constituency, noting that every second week they will take their services to the people so that they can serve their communities.
‘We also reminded our members to stick to the strategic pillars of excellence and they should remind themselves that a very good police officer can elevate his level of professionalism in terms of conduct as well as attending to complaints speedily as they are coming in from the members of the public,’ said Nashikaku.
