WINDHOEK: Chief Inspector Katrina Naukushu of the Namibian Police Force in Windhoek has cautioned the public about the repercussions of being caught with illicit drugs with the intention to sell.
Naukushu during a media briefing here on Tuesday said they confiscated drugs worth an estimated N.dollars 500 000 in April.
‘The drugs on display to the media today were confiscated since the beginning of April to date. The drugs was confiscated within Windhoek only and the outside stations are not included,’ said Naukushu.
The confiscated illicit substances include Mandrax pills, crack cocaine, and marijuana.
‘The danger of being found in possession of these drugs is that you will be put behind bars, you will be arrested and charged no matter the quantity of the substance, it is not allowed,’ the chief inspector said.
Naukushu stressed that drug dealing is illegal in Namibia and asked members of the public to assist by telling the police if they see any drug-related activity.
