NFCPT hands over N.dollars 300 000 towards Ondangwa stadium construction


The Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust ( NFCPT ) handed over a donation of N . dollars 300 000 towards the construction of the planned Ondangwa state – of – the – art sport stadium . Officially handing over the donation on Wednesday , NFCPT Chief Executive Officer ( CEO ), Victor Pea said that this fulfils their commitment to support the Ondangwa Sports Stadium project . According to Pea , as part of the annual State – Owned Enterprises CEO ‘ s Forum , they pledged N . dollars 300 000 on behalf of the trust , at the Gala Dinner held on 06 June 2024 . He noted that the CEO ‘ s Forum Executive Committee identified worthy causes for support by SOEs in the host region , and the sport complex was identified as a project worthy of support by SOEs . ‘ I believe that this project that the Ondangwa Town Council has embarked upon is a project of national importance and is poised to benefit not only Ondangwa and the surrounding localities , but the entire northern regions and the country at large ,’ he said . He
added that this underscores their commitment to worthy causes of national importance such as the project that the council has embarked upon , referencing that Namibia is lagging behind in terms of sport infrastructure . Pea stated that he hopes that this donation from the NFCPT will help attract significant investment not only to Ondangwa but to the entire northern region of the country , bring economic benefits to host towns by creating employment opportunities through the development of facilities of this nature . Meanwhile , Ondangwa Town Council chairperson of the management committee , Julia Kapia indicated that this stadium transcends mere construction ; as it represents their collective vision : a venue where athletes of all ages can refine their talents , where families can come together to support their teams , and where the spirit of community can flourish .
