The Omicron variant of COVID-19 was estimated to make up about 58.6% cases of the coronavirus going around in the U.S. for the week ending Dec. 25, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In contrast, the Delta variant, which has also been labeled a “variant of concern” by the CDC, accounted for 41.1% of all COVID-19 cases in the U.S. for that same period of time.
