Omuthiya residents pledges more than N.dollars 300 000 for their business expo


The residents of Omuthiya have pledged a total of N . dollars 301 250 for the Omuthiya Town Council Business Expo , which will take place from 28 October to 3 November 2024 at a new market centre in the town . The pledges , made by local business communities and residents , were announced during a fundraising gala dinner for the second edition of the Omuthiya Expo , held at Omuthiya ‘ s fire station on Saturday . Among the pledgers , the Rani Group of Companies pledged N . dollars 55 000 , Okaale Lifestyle Centre pledged N . dollars 20 000 , and the town ‘ s mayor , Johannes Ndeutepo , pledged N . dollars 5 000 . Omuthiya Town Council previously hosted an expo in November 2022 . This year ‘ s theme is ” Sustainable Tourism and Agriculture : A Tool to Harness Development and Economic Enfranchisement .” The Deputy Minister of Industrialisation and Trade , Verna Sinimbo , encouraged the business community to network , interact , and expand their business contacts . She emphasised the expo ‘ s theme , noting tha
t sustainable tourism and agriculture are not merely sectors but powerful instruments for building resilient economies and ensuring equitable opportunities for all . ” They have the potential to uplift our communities , create jobs , and foster a deeper connection between our people and the land they cherish , so let us transform Omuthiya into a beacon of sustainability and innovation ,” Sinimbo said . She also urged people to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade . ” The ministry is supporting people through the Equipment Aid Scheme , where equipment is provided to enable small and medium – sized enterprises to start or scale up production , as well as the Industrial Upgrading and Modernisation Programme , which focuses on boosting the competitiveness and capacity of industries .”
