Operational successes: Aliwal North Cluster

Aliwal North: Aliwal North Cluster embarked on several crime prevention operations that have yielded successful results. A roadblock was held on the N6 together with the traffic department. A total of 111 vehicles and persons were searched and a total of 126 traffic fines were issued to the value of R 5 300-00.

During the second phase of the operation, the Stock Theft Unit and the local Community Policing Forum (CPF) also joined the operation, visiting second hand goods shops and abattoirs and butcheries and monitored the pension pay-outs.

Sterkspruit: An operation comprising of the folowing role players: various police units, SANDF and the Provincial Traffic Department.

A total of 9 Summons were issued, unlawful possession of ammunition case was opened and 9 traffic fines to the value of R 7 000-00 were issued.

Lady Grey: The station had a crime prevention operation and focused on the compliance inspections at liquor outlets.

Two shebeens were closed down due to non-compliance to the Liqour Act and two suspects were subsequently arrested and the will appear in court on Monday. Liquor including beer and concoctions were confiscated.
