A cumulative total of 536 202 eligible Namibians registered as voters from the commencement of the General Registration of Voters (GRV) on 03 June until 22 June 2024.
Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) Chief Electoral and Referenda Officer, Peter Shaama announced this in a media statement on Thursday, noting that this number includes the Namibian Diplomatic Missions abroad as well.
‘The nation is hereby informed that the GRV continues across the country and at all Namibian Diplomatic Missions abroad until 01 August 2024, Mondays to Saturdays from 08h00 until 19h00,’ Shaama said.
The ECN also urged all eligible Namibian citizens who have not yet registered, to do so as soon as possible.
Namibians are registering as voters for the general elections due to be held on 27 November 2024 to elect a new president and members of the National Assembly.
