Pretoria: The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development has announced that the provision of payment services at all magistrates’ courts in the country will be temporarily suspended with effect from 13:30 on Friday, 01 November 2024. The suspension is due to the upgrading of the payments system. The service will only resume on Monday, 04 November 2024.
According to South African Government News Agency, the department has expressed its apologies for any inconvenience caused during the period of the system upgrade. They have reiterated their commitment to ensuring access to justice services for all. The temporary suspension is necessary to enhance and improve the efficiency of the payment system across all magistrates’ courts. The department encourages the public to plan accordingly and make necessary arrangements during this brief interruption of services.
