Police Detain Four Suspects for Possession of Stolen Property and Imitation Firearms


Khayelitsha: An integrated operation between police units has resulted in the arrest of four suspects for the possession of presumed stolen property and possession of imitation firearms. The operation took place after intelligence was gathered regarding individuals involved in carjackings and robberies within the Lingelethu West policing precinct.



According to South African Police Service, the operation was intelligence-driven, with officers acting on information gathered by Crime Intelligence. The police searched a premises located on Nanana Street, I-Section, Khayelitsha, where they seized two imitation firearms and eight cellular telephones. The suspects, consisting of three males aged 18, 20, and 21, along with a 27-year-old female, were unable to provide an account for the items found in their possession.



The four suspects are scheduled to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ court on Monday to face charges related to the possession of stolen property and imitation firearms.
