Police Seize R550 000 Worth of Dagga and Arrest Two Foreign Nationals in Bloemfontein


Bloemfontein: On Saturday, 22 March, 2026, at approximately 08:45, police received information regarding two suspicious African males in Walter Sisulu Drive. Upon arrival, Bloemfontein flying squad members found the suspects standing next to five large bags at a bus cubicle. The suspects, upon noticing the police presence, fled on foot towards Gardenia Park. Officers pursued and apprehended them.



According to South African Police Service, it was determined that the suspects were foreign nationals and they presented expired asylum documentation. Upon inspection, the bags were found to contain several bales of dagga with an estimated street value of R550 000.



Two foreign nationals aged 36 and 37-years-old were arrested. They will appear in the Bloemfontein magistrate court soon for dealing in dagga and contravention of the immigration Act.
