Don’t return from holiday to a dark home
When you are away on holiday, it’s easy to forget mundane chores like paying the municipal account. But there is little worse than returning to a dark home when your electricity was suspended due to an unpaid account.
It makes financial sense to pay your account just before the due date. It means, after all, that the funds earned interest in your account for as long as possible.
Every Post Office in South Africa offers an easy, fuss-free way to pay your municipal bill. The bills of all major metropoles and cities can be paid at any Post Office countrywide.
There is no cost at all to the account holder, and the account is updated within 24 hours. You also leave with a valid receipt as proof that your account was paid.
All municipal bills that can be paid at the Post Office, will have a Post Office logo printed on them; that makes it easy to check.
There are just over 1180 Post Offices operating in South Africa – you can therefore expect to find a Post Office close to where you are on holiday
The Post Office accepts debit and credit cards for account payments, as well as cash.
