President Ramaphosa Appoints New Leadership for Higher Education and Training

Pretoria: President Cyril Ramaphosa has removed Dr. Nobuhle Nkabane from the position of Minister of Higher Education and Training. In her place, Mr. Buti Kgwaridi Manamela has been appointed as the new Minister. Mr. Manamela previously served as the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, a position he held since the 6th Administration. This decision was made in accordance with Section 91 (2) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa.

According to African Press Organization, President Ramaphosa has also appointed Dr. Nomusa Dube-Ncube as the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training. Dr. Dube-Ncube brings a wealth of government leadership experience to the role, having previously served as the MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs and as the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Province. Her appointment is in line with Section 93 (b) of the Constitution, which allows the President to appoint up to two Deputy Ministers from outside the Assembly.
