Cape town: President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended his well-wishes to South Africa's Muslim community, wishing them Eid Mubarak as they celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr at the end of the holy month of Ramadan. According to South African Government News Agency, President Ramaphosa sent wishes to individuals, families, and communities for a joyous and reflective time of prayer, gratitude, unity, and sharing. He invited the Muslim community to reflect on Human Rights Day, focusing on the constitutional provisions that pertain to religious and cultural practices. The President emphasized that the nation shares in this celebration of Eid in the spirit of goodwill and appreciation of diversity. He acknowledged that for most Muslims, Eid is a time of faith, family, festivity, and bringing joy to less fortunate members of the community. However, he also expressed concern for Muslims around the world who are engulfed in devastating conflict and unending wars, hoping that the spirit of Ramadan and Eid may bring peace, security, and a hopeful future for all of humanity.
