Putfontein SAPS nabbed two suspects for being in conflict with the law

On Friday, 2 September 2022 around 11:00, the Putfontein SAPS Social Crime Prevention team conducted an intelligence driven operation in Mayfield area an arrested a 21 and 28-years-old suspects for dealing in suspected illegal substances.

This follows numerous complaints from the members of the public about the selling of illegal substances to kids in the area. The police closely monitored the said activities in Mayfield Ext 1 and pounce on an unsuspecting 28-year-old male who was searched and packets of small plastics containing crystal meth and nyaope was found in his pockets.

On the same day, another suspects was found in his yard busy selling dagga in his yard and was also arrested with several pokes of dagga.

Several illegal shebeens were also closed and ticket fines were issued. The arrested suspects will appear in local Magistrates’ Courts soon.

The Putfontein SAPS Station Commander Lt Col W Mathiane thanked the members for responding to the complaint from the public and arresting the suspects, he also thanked the community for being the eyes and ears of the police.
