SAPS Seeks Public Help to Locate Missing Constables

Bloemfontein: The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), General Fannie Masemola, is calling on the public to assist in the search for three missing constables. The officers, 24-year-old Constable Cebekhulu Linda, 30-year-old Constable Keamogetswe Buys, and 20-year-old Constable Boipelo Senoge, disappeared while traveling from Bloemfontein to their deployment area in Limpopo.

According to South African Police Service, the trio was last seen at the Engen garage near the Grasmere toll plaza on the N1 on Wednesday, 23 April 2025. Their white VW Polo sedan, with registration number JCL 401 FS, has not been tracked since their disappearance, as both the vehicle tracking device and their cellphones have been switched off.

A 24-hour Venue Operational Centre (VOC) has been set up, and a comprehensive search is being conducted. A high-level team of detectives and crime intelligence operators from Gauteng and the Free State has been mobilized to locate the missing officers. The constables were off duty at the time and have not reached their intended destination.

The SAPS is investigating the incident as a potential hijacking and kidnapping case. They urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of the constables to contact the investigating officer, Captain Chaacha Manga, at 082 527-6099.
